Important Preparation Information

When in the field never let someone put salt on you hide or cape unless all meat and fat has been properly removed, lips split, and ears turned all the way out. Salt can only penetrate 1/4 of an inch. If your cape can not be properly prepared for salting, it must be frozen or kept cool and dry until it reaches the taxidermist.

Wrap salted hides in burlap or cloth. Any moisture in a plastic bag may cause irreparable hair slippage or rotting of your hide or cape.

Import / Export Information

Heads Above The Rest, Inc® is a licensed establishment through USFWS that can import and export hunting trophies throughout the world. We can not process your shipment without proper shipping documents and permits. Please make sure you check with your outfitter to ensure that they have applied for the proper papers and necessary permits before your return. For shipments outside the U.S.A., have them come inbound to DFW Airport, Dallas Texas as your port of entry!

To ensure we can arrange for our brokers to clear your shipments, we recommend that you contact us 2-3 weeks before shipments are due in.

Free Shipping Tags

Heads Above The Rest, Inc® can provide you with laminated shipping tags for your hides, horns and skulls for return shipments to our facility. Identification tags are available upon request at no charge, if we complete your taxidermy services. Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery!
