• Ron has been a teacher of taxidermy for many years and has taught both beginner and advanced taxidermy professionals. In addition, Ron has held training seminars at state, national, and world competitions. His seminars filled quickly and were so well-attended that extra seats had to be made room for.
  
  
• His advanced knowledge in anatomy has led Ron to be hired to sculpt African and Exotic manikins, which are still being sold in taxidermy catalogs.
  
  
• Ron invented a taxidermy hide glue which is still being used by industry professionals and has been for over 15 years. Always looking to improve things, Ron also formulated his own finishing epoxy! At the present time this epoxy is not available to the public, nor other industry professionals.
  
  
• Besides providing taxidermy services to both the public and private sector, Ron is frequently hired by museums because of the tremendous experience he has with life size taxidermy and enormous experience with a large diversity of animals; African, European, North American, and Exotics.
  
  
• Ron is hired by other taxidermy firms to create life size mounts with large animals like elephants for their customers.

Beyond Taxidermy

• Ron Schaefer began working at age 12 as a tool and die maker alongside his father who ran a successful machining business. By the time he was 18 years of age, he had earned his tool and die degree. It was at this time that he chose to leave the tool and die field and go into the construction industry.
  
  
• Ron worked as a carpenter for over 5 years building high-end custom homes from the ground up and doing room additions and remodels varying from minor to major in size.
  
  
• Ron is not just a taxidermist, he is a skilled artisan. His passion and creativity have taken him into Wildlife Bronze Sculptures that range from very small to large landscape sculptures, Wildlife Pencil Drawings, Custom Airbrushing and Wildlife Oil Paintings.
